Focuses on programming the Intel 8051 microcontroller, one of the most common microprocessors used in controls or instrumentation applications using assembly code. Text has been updated to include easier-to-read computer programs and more hardware interfacing. Instruction Set in the Appendix has been expanded. Preliminary and hardware chapters from Ayala's 8086 text (1995) have been added so the 8051 text can now be used in a first microprocessor course as well as advanced.
